Question #1

Sometime we read in the media, there are human skeletons found some millions years back. Is it in contrast with the biblical teaching.
Answer : To simplify a complex question, we can look at this two ways and perhaps both are the same answer:

  1. - Our understanding of science is based on sin - that is we are all under sin and so is all creation. Because of this our conclusions would be clouded by sin.
  2. - The Bible does not tell us how old the earth is. We base our understanding on Usher's Chronology. All the Bible tells us is that "In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth." He created it in a weekly cycle and that's all it says.
IF we look at both points above we can see that "Sin has marred our understanding and the dogmatic position, based on Usher's chronology add to our problem. The Bible is not a science text book, but it's a revelation of the God of the Universe who is Creator, Sustainer and even Savior of His creation. It presents an awesome God that we need to know and introduce to others "personally." Of course, ultimately, the Revelation is of Jesus Christ who is God made man by His incarnations and our Redeemer. Unfortunately we are to busy "defending" God at times and are side stepped by dogmatism and science (so called) rather then introducing a dying world to its Savior.

Question #2

If the bible says thou shall not kill, why did the Lord allow the Israelites to kill tens of thousands?
Answer The Hebrew word translated kill in Exodus 20:13 is ratsach --to murder, to slay, to kill

  1. (Qal) to murder, to slay
    1. premeditated
    2. accidental
    3. as avenger
    4. slayer (intentional) (participle)
  2. (Niphal) to be slain
  3. (Piel)
    1. to murder, to assassinate
    2. murderer, assassin (participle) (substantive)
  4. (Pual) to be killed

As you can see its primary meaning is to murder (pre meditated). Your question does God kill or Can God sin has to be answered no He cannot sin - He is God. The death of the Canaanites, Jebusotes and other nations had a two fold message

  1. - The nations had committed the unpardonable sin - their time was up, so to speak. They had closed the door of salvation. They reached the limit of Divine grace and patience, because of this
  2. - God sent Israel as the instrument of His judgment and as a warning that God's grace though apparently endless would be withdrawn if His people committed the sins of the heathen and refused to acknowledge that the LORD is the God of Israel.

God does not kill - sin kills as Paul writes in Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Also note Paul's statement in Romans 1:18-32 "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.

Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them."

Romans 2:1-2 The Impartiality of God "Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things." And we know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who practice such things. God is the only righteous Being in the Universe, as John writes in Revelation 15:3-4 "And they sang the song of Moses, the bond-servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,
"Great and marvelous are Your works,
O Lord God, the Almighty;
Righteous and true are Your ways,
King of the nations!
Who will not fear, O Lord,
and glorify Your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come
and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed."

For You alone are holy; For ALL THE NATIONS WILL COME AND WORSHIP BEFORE YOU, FOR YOUR RIGHTEOUS ACTS HAVE BEEN REVEALED."

Question #3

How can God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit all be the same person?" They cannot be the same person, nor are they God the Father, God the Son & God the Holy Spirit.
Answer: The word "God" is translated from in the Old Testament is: "Elohim" the plural form of "El "Genesis 1:1 reads as follows "In the beginning God (Elohim) created (the verb is singular) the heavens & the earth.

Question #3A:

How can God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit all be the same person?
Answer :

Deuteronomy 6:4 "Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! The Hebrew reads as follows: Shema (Hear or listen) Yisrael (O Israel) the LORD (YAHWEH - the Divine name Yahweh) our God (Elohinu [plural]) (YHWH- the Divine name Yahweh) is one (echad - a unity [not the number one]) The Hebrew word "echad" is used for the husband and wife becoming "one"; the evening and the morning being "one" and the family is "one" etc. John in chapter 1 takes up the Genesis idea and confirms that John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. This one was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. Please note that the "Word" - Jesus the Messiah (see verse 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.)

John uses a syllogism alluding to Genesis 1:1 as follows, major premise: The Word was in the beginning, minor premise: The Word was with God, Conclusion: The Word was God. He also affirms this conclusion by telling us that the Word was not created, but Creator and if He was created He was created by Himself (totally absurd).

The Holy Spirit is also described as God in Acts 5:1-4: "But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, and kept back some of the price for himself, with his wife's full knowledge, and bringing a portion of it, he laid it at the apostles' feet. But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land? "While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God." Here the Holy Spirit is called God.

The Baptismal formula in Matthew 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit," To wrap up we believe in One God (Elohim) manifests Himself in three Persons -The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit all three is God.

Question #4

Did Jesus drink wine?
Answer: There is no conclusive evidence either way. The Greek word usually translated wine is oinos which can be translated wine or unfermented wine - the juice from the fruit of the vine. The Rabbis allowed those who didn't drink alcoholic wine, cold drink grape juice. We have to consider whether or not to drink wine is a sin. If it is then Jesus could not drink it, if it is not, then it's possible He did. However, alcohol abuse is a sin for example 1 Thessalonians 5:7-8 "For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night. But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation." Ephesians 5:18 "And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit," It would be a sin to abuse wine and we can see the results that alcoholism has done to families and individuals. So we can say without a doubt that Jesus did not abuse wine, but the Bible is silent on whether or not He drank wine. You might also consider the Nazarite vow (Samson & John the Baptist kept it since birth), if it applied to Jesus then He didn't drink it at all As for 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." This is relevant to all of God's people throughout time. What John says is if we acknowledge that we are wrong (homologeo) then He will forgive us and cleanse (take it away completely) for all unrighteousness (missing the mark that is God's righteousness).

Question #5

I was wondering as I read Ephesians 2:14-15 "14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace," I know that the 10 commandments law wasn't TAKEN AWAY SO WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN IT Says "abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations"?
Answer: Ephesians 2:13-20 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Note that he is talking about Gentiles - they were far off - that is not Jews. In Christ however, they were brought near. 14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, What is the barrier, that is the dividing wall? The wall was abolished by the Jesus was the enmity 15 by abolishing* in His flesh the enmity**, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances***, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, * luo a primary verb; to "loosen" (literally or figuratively) :also translated break (up), destroy, dissolve, (un-) loose, melt, put off. ** echthra - enmity, hatred. *** dogma - law (civil, ceremonial or ecclesiastical) What he Jesus "dissolved or loosened" was the dogmatic application of the law that was separating the Jew and Gentiles. In Christ there is no distinction or separation all are "one" on Christ. This was accomplished by His death and verified by His resurrection. See verse 18 for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. 19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, You can see the fulfillment of this idea in Gelatins 3:28-29 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's descendants, heirs according to promise.

Question #6

Is it possible to forgive oneself for mistakes that have been made? How do I begin to do that? How do I know God is listening?
Answer: John tells us in 1 John 1:8-10 & If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess * our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us. * confess homolego - We must acknowledge that we are wrong. Then God guarantees forgiveness 1 John 2:1-2 Christ Is Our Advocate My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and He Himself is the propitiation * for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world. * hilasmos (hil-as-mos'); atonement, i.e. (concretely) an expiator Jesus is the sacrifice that makes us one with God All you have to do is what John tells you and you are forgiven.

Question #7

Where in the Bible can I find where it says that Satan can no longer go into heaven. I know where it says he was cast down to earth, but everyone I know says he lost his ability to go into heaven like he did in Job 1:6. Where does it say he lost the ability or privilege to go into heaven, like he apparently did in Job?
Answer: There is no text that tells us this. However, let's look into New Testament idea. The text in Job can be our starting point, then we'll look into the NT:
Job 1:6-7 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before YAHWEH, and Satan also came among them. YAHWEH said to Satan, "From where do you come?" Then Satan answered YAHWEH and said, "From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it."
Job 2:1-2 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before YAHWEH, and Satan also came among them to present himself before YAHWEH. YAHWEH said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Then Satan answered YAHWEH and said, "From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it." Who are the sons of God and what is satan doing among them, before God? Luke tells us in his genealogy of Jesus tells us, Luke 3:38 the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God. Adam was the son of God. He also tells us about Jesus birth: Luke 1:35 The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God. According to Luke Adam was a son of God, Jesus is the Son of God. If we use this as our point of interpretation of Job - the sons of God would be the representatives of creation and Satan (the adversary, deceiver) was there because Adam forfeited his right as son of God and gave all his dominion to Satan. This is why in the wilderness the devil could tempt Jesus "If you are and I will give you: Luke 4:3 And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread." 4 And Jesus answered him, "It is written, "MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE.'" 5 And he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said to Him, "I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. 7 "Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours." 8 Jesus answered him, "It is written, "YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'" Note the temptation he would give Jesus the dominion that was taken away from Adam. Notice Paul's words 1 Corinthians 15:21 For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. and 1 Corinthians 15:45 So also it is written, "The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. 47 The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. 48 As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly. 49 Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly. What the New Testament is saying is that Jesus is Adam and as such represents the race, Satan can no longer go into the meeting of the sons of God because Jesus is there on our behalf. He has no right at all. Daniel prophesied this when he wrote Daniel 12:1 Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. Michael, who clearly is Jesus here is the One who stands for His people.

Question #8

What does the bible say about the prompting of the Holy Spirit. I am seeking God to know what my spiritual gift are. I am currently a Deacon at my church, and feel a special touch in my heart when I am in the presence of different ministers being ordained. I feel that God is telling me this is part of my calling, but I am not absolutely certain, but I do not want to have doubt.
Answer: In order to answer your question we need to look at the role of the Holy Spirit and then the concept of Spiritual Gifts, We will look at both John and Paul for the answers: John 14:16-17: "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. John 14:26: "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. and John 15:26-27: "When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me, and you will testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning. The primary role of the Holy Spirit is to testify of Jesus so that we can testify of Jesus who of course came to reveal the Father. He will teach is all things, and of course comes from the Father. Paul tells us about the gifts: Romans 12:4-12: For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Since WE HAVE GIFTS* THAT DIFFER ACCORDING TO THE GRACE* GIVEN US, EACH OF US TO EXERCISE THEM ACCORDINGLY: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; If service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. BE DEVOTED TO ONE ANOTHER IN BROTHERLY LOVE; *** give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,
* charisma (khar'-is-mah); a (divine) gratuity, i.e. deliverance (from danger or passion); (specifically) a (spiritual) endowment, i.e. (subjectively) religious qualification, or (objectively) miraculous faculty:
**charis (khar'-ece); graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude):
*** Philadelphia (fil-ad-el-fee'-ah); from brotherly love (kindness), love of the brethren.
1 Corinthians 12:4-11 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. BUT ONE AND THE SAME SPIRIT WORKS ALL THESE THINGS , DISTRIBUTING TO EACH ON INDIVIDUALLY JUST AS HE WILLS.
(Note - It is the Spirit who gives the gifts and He gives them to us as He wills. It is our responsibility to recognize and use them under His guidance and leadership. Prayer is the way that we can learn God's will. Of course the most important and primary gift is Love (agape)

Question #9

In the text which describes Jesus Betrayal by Judas some say that the Greek says the word wasn't betrayal but handed over, that Judas handed Jesus over to the Romans. Some suggest that Jesus set it up with Judas. As if Judas didn't do this on his own free will. As if Jesus did it all alone and then blamed Judas. But how about the verse in the bible that says ("...the person should have never been born...) Was Judas rejecting the holy spirit. What are your thoughts.
Answer: Judas betrayed His Lord and at the supper when given a chace to repent he didn't: Luke 22:3-4 And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, belonging to the number of the twelve. 4 And he went away and discussed with the chief priests and officers how he might betray Him to them. Also the Greek word for betray is paradidomi (par-ad-id'-o-mee); to surrender, i.e. yield up, intrust, transmit: betray, bring forth, cast, commit, deliver (up), give (over, up), hazard, put in prison, recommend.

Question #10

How is it explained that God created man on the 6th day, but dinosaurs and other living things date back millions of years prior to man?
Answer: The Bible tells us that: Genesis 1:20-31
20 Then God said, "Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens." 21 God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind; and God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth." 23 There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day. 24 Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind"; and it was so. 25 God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good. 26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth." 29 Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; 30 and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food"; and it was so. 31 God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day. The sequence of Genesis is Sea creatures, flying things, land creatures and man. By the time man was created all had been created within two (2) days. Your question is a logical one, however, the Biblical record only tells us the order of creation - man being the crowning act and as it's ruler the one who names them. The Bible chronology is based on Bishop Usher's chronology, just like science a human instrument. The Bible does not specifically tell us the age of the earth, it is only concerned about one thing - GOD CREATED ALL FROM NOTHING. The Bible is about God, it is a revelation of Him. When Jesus came He came to reveal God. The Bible is not a text book of creation, but a book about GOD.

Question #11

Why is it wrong to have sex with more than one person at a single time.
Answer: Because God said that a man and a woman should be married and are to stay married their entire lives and cohabit only with one's marriage partner. See Romans and Mark.
Romans 7:1-6;
Do you not know, brothers-- for I am speaking to men who know the law-- that the law has authority over a man only as long as he lives? For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage. So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress, even though she marries another man. So, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God. For when we were controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death. But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.
Mark 10:2-12
Some Pharisees came and tested him by asking, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?" "What did Moses command you?" he replied. They said, "Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away." "It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law," Jesus replied. "But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.' 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. He answered, "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery."

Question #12

Will there be tears of sorrow in heaven due to lost loved ones or only tears of joy? Revelation 21:4 states he will turn our tears to joy.
Answer: Revelation 21:3-5 "And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away." And He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." And He said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true." The tears will be a combination of joy and sorrow. But God wipes away the tears and creates all things new. Although we will miss those who are not there we will be convinced that God is right and cannot make a mistake. We will agree with Him and our joy will be in Him.

Question #14

As I understand I & II Corinthians. is written for the Christian - free from sin, cleansed by the blood of Jesus. How about the unbeliever - dead in trespasses and sins ?
Answer: I and II Corinthians are written for the Corinthians. God preserved it for us. The Corinthians were not free from sin, otherwise Paul would not have written the things he did to them. Paul was trying to get the believers in Corinth to correct their ways, get their act together. the nonbelievers must come to Christ, must accept Christ as Lord (Romans 1:4 who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord,). If nonbelievers read Corinthians, the message for them is to accept Christ as Lord. Once saved always saved is not taught in Corinthians. What is taught is that when Christ becomes our lord and master, then we think right, believe right, and act right.

Question #15

When it refers to "the Rock" in Matthew, does that mean the word of God or does it mean "the Rock" is Jesus? Matthew 16: 17-18 Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Answer: Your question about "the Rock" of Matthew 16:18 "I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. To say that it's the Word of God (The Bible) is quite dangerous It implies that the church (Spiritual Israel) is built upon the Bible and not on God in Christ. It would make the church inferior to Israel whose Rock is Yahweh not the Scriptures. Note the following examples:
Deuteronomy 32: 3-4 "For I proclaim the name of the Yahweh; Ascribe greatness to our God! 4 "The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.
Deuteronomy 32:15 "But Jeshurun grew fat and kicked -- You are grown fat, thick, and sleek -- Then he forsook God who made him, and scorned the Rock of his salvation. 1 Samuel 2:2-3 "There is no one holy like the Yahweh, Indeed, there is no one besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God. "Boast no more so very proudly, Do not let arrogance come out of your mouth; For the Yahweh is a God of knowledge, And with Him actions are weighed. Psalms 18:2 Yahweh is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Paul further points out in the New Testament: 1 Corinthians 10:1-4 "Avoid Israel's Mistakes. For I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea; and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and all ate the same spiritual food; and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ." In Matthew it's the God revealed message Matthew 16:16 "Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Therefore, the rock here is the proclamation the Jesus is the Messiah - God's Son or God himself. Thus He is Yahweh the Rock of Israel.

Question #16

Why does it say in Psalms 83-18 that God's name is Jehovah?
Answer: The Bible never uses the name Jehovah. That is a mistranslation of the text. The name for God in the Old Testament is Yahweh. It was a mistranslated as Jehovah because of the pointing of the text. In ancient Hebrew as well as in modern Hebrew there are no vowels written in the text. In ancient times when the language was dying, the scribes pointed the text with symbols called points so one would know which vowels to say when reading. The vowels used for some of the texts that used the name of God were the vowels for 'Lord' so that when one was reading the text they would say 'Lord' and not God's name, Yahweh. The Jews held the name of God sacred. When the King James Version of the Bible was translated, the translators transliterated the name for God with the vowels for 'Lord' and came up with Jehovah.

Please tell me the origin and definition of pornography and where did it come from and why so many people in the church are involved in this but no one wants to talk about it. Why is it on the rise and what can we as Christians do to break this very very strong three band cord.
Answer: Pornography is a Greek word that means in Greek: 'writing about prostitution.' As far as people getting into such things who are church members. I suppose it is because the world is such a sinful place and Satan is in control of more things than we would like to think. Satan places his people in the church to deceive the church and lead its members into destruction.

Question #18

I'm a Christian. I like astrology also at the same time I believe in some true predictions. I'm not talking about Psychic. Being a Christian is it wrong to believe in these things.
Answer: Yes, it is wrong to believe in astrology. These kind of phenomenon are spoken about in the bible. Daniel 2 and Daniel 4 both speak about people who seek answers from other sources than God. See also Isaiah 8:19-20 "When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? Doing anything with magic or fortune telling or even the occult is forbidden in the bible. See Leviticus 19:31 "Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.'Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God." Leviticus 20:6 "I will set my face against the person who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute himself by following them, and I will cut him off from his people".1 Samuel 28:3-9 "Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had mourned for him and buried him in his own town of Ramah. Saul had expelled the mediums and spiritists from the land. The Philistines assembled and came and set up camp at Shunem, while Saul gathered all the Israelites and set up camp at Gilboa. When Saul saw the Philistine army, he was afraid; terror filled his heart. He inquired of the LORD , but the LORD did not answer him by dreams or Urim or prophets. Saul then said to his attendants, "Find me a woman who is a medium, so I may go and inquire of her." 2 Kings 21:1-9 "Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-five years. His mother's name was Hephzibah. He did evil in the eyes of the LORD , following the detestable practices of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites. He rebuilt the high places his father Hezekiah had destroyed; he also erected altars to Baal and made an Asherah pole, as Ahab king of Israel had done. He bowed down to all the starry hosts and worshiped them. He built altars in the temple of the LORD , of which the LORD had said, "In Jerusalem I will put my Name." In both courts of the temple of the LORD , he built altars to all the starry hosts. He sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced sorcery and divination, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD , provoking him to anger. He took the carved Asherah pole he had made and put it in the temple, of which the LORD had said to David and to his son Solomon, "In this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my Name forever. I will not again make the feet of the Israelites wander from the land I gave their forefathers, if only they will be careful to do everything I commanded them and will keep the whole Law that my servant Moses gave them." But the people did not listen. Manasseh led them astray, so that they did more evil than the nations the LORD had destroyed before the Israelites."2 Kings 23:24-25 "Furthermore, Josiah got rid of the mediums and spiritists, the household gods, the idols and all the other detestable things seen in Judah and Jerusalem. This he did to fulfill the requirements of the law written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had discovered in the temple of the LORD. Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the LORD as he did-with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses." 2 Chronicles 33:6-13 "To the law and to he testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn." The only thing to believe in is God and Jesus Christ whom he sent. God as creator and Jesus Christ as God's revelation on earth have all the answers necessary for life.

Question #19

What does it mean to "dwell in the secret place of the most high" Psalm 91:1.
Answer: To dwell in the secret place of the Most High is to be in communion with the Most High. In other words the expression is a metaphor for being or dwelling with God. THE TEMPLE in ancient Judaism could be a physical place to meet God. But here it seems to me that what is being addressed is being in close contact with the Creator.

Question #20

I heard a story when I was little about Satan. Satan was Gods son also and an angel in heaven with Jesus. He became angry, jealous and envious of Jesus because Jesus was the chosen one and getting all of Gods attention. So he fell from grace with God and proceeded to recruit as many humans as possible to build an army of evil that would equal the lords army of the righteous. I simply want to know if there is any truth to this story.
Answer: From a biblical perspective the bible does not support the idea that Jesus and Satan are brothers. Jesus is God and Satan is a created being (an angel) who rebelled and God banned him from heaven ( See Isaiah 14; Ezekiel 28; Revelation 12).

Question #21

A teen in our community recently died. Since his death, 3 people have reported seeing him at 3 separate times. They say it wasn't in a dream but while they were awake. They say that he didn't say anything and it was only for a few seconds. Also, a 6 year old (Sam) recently died. A couple hours after his death, his 8 year old cousin (Max) asked his mom if she could feel Sam. His mom said no. Sam said, "I can feel him. He is right here with us." Max never saw Sam but later that night he again said that he could feel that Sam was there with them. How do you explain these things? Are these things from God or from Satan?
Answer: The bible says those who die are asleep see 1 Thessalonians 4:13-15 "Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep." Ecclesiastes 9:5-10 Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the living know that they will die,but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even the memory of them is forgotten. Their love, their hate and their jealousy have long since vanished; never again will they have a part in anything that happens under the sun. Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for it is now that God favors what you do. Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil. Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun- all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom" 1 Timothy 6:15-16 "which God will bring about in his own time–God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen" Isaiah 8:19 "When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?" It also says fallen angels impersonate people to deceive them. See 2 Corinthians 11; Revelation 12

Question #22

Does God change?
Answer: The bible says that God does not change in both the Old Testament and in the New Testament. God's mercy extends beyond and over powers sin (Romans 5:20-21 "The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"). All prophecy is conditional. When the conditions are met, the prophecy is fulfilled. When people change their minds, God acts accordingly. God addresses all individuals as intelligent people to be in a conversation with through prayer and have a dynamic relationship with. How God views and handles situations is beyond our ability to comprehend or even explain. Isaiah 2 has not been fulfilled because Israel never lived up to what it was asked to by God. Whatever God does is always right. God's decisions are not dependent on our decisions. Deuteronomy 28 list blessings and cursing that will naturally follow for obeying or disobeying God's instructions. However, God is merciful and overrides many of the curses as he chooses through his mercy when we pray earnestly for him to intervene. Some consequences will naturally take place if God does not intervene. But God does intervene sometimes when we ask him too.

Question #23

What is the biblical basis for security in one's salvation (once saved, always saved)? Why do some people believe differently?
Answer: There is no basis for the idea "once saved, always saved". Look at these Hebrews 6; Galatians 5:2-4 "Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. 3 Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. 4 You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace." It is possible to lose one's salvation after having received Christ. In fact, most of the New Testament is written to combat the idea of 'once saved always saved For some I guess to believe once saved, always saved gives people an excuse to sin without repentance.

Moses receiving the ten commandments is an incredible story. What happened to the stone tablets they were engraved on? Could they be waiting to be found somewhere?
Answer: The arc of the covenant in which the ten commandments were written on was in the Most Holy Place of Solomon's Temple. When the Babylonians came and destroyed the city and the Temple, the Jews hid the arc of the covenant in one of the caves in surrounding area of Jerusalem. There are thousands of caves around Jerusalem and no one knows where the arc was hidden. It could be found someday. However, the Palestinians in the area do not like the Jews doing any archeology work there . It causes a lot of problems when they try to dig up things in the Temple area. The temple area is sacred for them as well as for the Jews so it is a difficult task to follow up on.

My wife and I are wondering if there is a difference between answered prayers and miracles? Is an answered prayer in fact a miracle?
Answer: It really depends on how you define the two expressions. Answered prayer is an intervention of God. A miracle is an intervention of God. In both cases God determines the outcome which would be different if he did not intervene. However, it's a miracle we are even alive. Evil forces would destroy everything if it were not for the power of God's grace.

Our pastor believes that "graven images" include any trinkets or ceramic collectibles, anything that represents people or animals (things God created) are bad. When God said not to have any graven or molten images before us, did he mean that we can't have any keepsakes at all? Our pastor is a hunter and he has had the 3-D targets, but he is so certain now that those are also graven images, he's destroyed those, too. Is this going too far? or is he right? I just assumed that it meant as long you don't worship any of those items you'd be OK.
Answer: In the Old Testament the graven images are objects that were worshiped by non Israelites. They were at times occupied by evil spirits. Hence we should not worship them. The battle was with spiritualism.

In heaven, everyone is perfect. I know what I'm thinking can't be true, but it seems almost like we're going to be robots. Are you able to explain to me how we're going to be able to still make decisions on our own?
Answer: In heaven we will not have the propensity to sin. But nevertheless we will be people who will be intelligent and will be able to use our heads. That's the way God created us. Just read Genesis before the the entrance of sin. Sin will have no control over anyone. We will be responsible to God and have responsibilities without the tendency to sin. Perfect harmony will be established. Receiving Christ and entering into the body of Christ will not destroy one's ability to make decisions but increase that ability. For more read Revelation 21-22.

Question #28

Could you please explain to me if Jesus actually went to hell after his death? I have asked several people and got different answers. I was told that it is the scripture about going into hell for 3 days before he was ascended into heaven and that he released the saints and prophets that were being bound in hell. Could you please refer me to where it is and explain.
Answer: The word 'hell' can mean none other than being in a grave. It is not a place were spirits exist and are tormented. The dead are dead until they are resurrected. The fire of hell that is talked about in revelation is after the second coming of Christ. So people will be resurrected and cast into the fire after Christ returns. At the third coming of Christ when everything is made new, then all the wicked will be cast into the hell fire to be destroyed forever. They will not be tormented forever in the sense of suffering physical punishment. They will suffer eternally by being wiped out of existence. They will be no more. Jesus on his death was unconscious in the grave until he was resurrected. Jesus will free all people from death and the grave, when he returns in 1 Thessalonians 4:15 "According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.". The wicked dead will be freed from the grave just before he recreates the earth at the third coming of Christ after the 1000 years. A judgment will take place, than all the people whose names are not written in the lamb's book of life will thrown into the lake of fire and be destroyed. Christ will recreate the earth to be inhabited by his redeemed people.

Question #29

What is the kingdom of GOD? Can you go to heaven without the Holy Ghost?

Answer: The kingdom of God is in essence the 'body of Christ' and it will be fully implemented in this world when Christ returns, at his second coming. I Corinthians 12-14 speaks about the body and how it is to function in this world. It will function perfectly in the world made new. The Holy Spirit is given to each believer. In fact, the Holy Spirit distributes gifts of service to all Christians. The Spirit instructs us, guides us, and generally comforts us in all situations. It is a misnomer for a person to be a Christian and not have evidence of the Holy Spirit in his or her life. The very desire to do what is right is an evidence of being guided by the Spirit. Hence, everyone who goes to heaven will have the Spirit. The Holy Spirit does not always reveal himself with loud noise or cause the person to be ecstatic. The person's only evidence may be just a desire to do what is right and want to go to heaven.

Question: #30

What are the verses of the bible that tell us about the after death of those who have never been exposed to Christ and His teachings?

Answer: There are no texts that specifically address the question you ask about. All the new testament says is that Christ's death is what sets us free from sin. And that God has chose to save the world through the message of the cross 1 Corinthians 1:18 "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
All I can say is that God is just and he will always do what is right no matter what. One does not have to worry about them. We are just obligated to tell the world about Christ for he is the answer to all human woe.

Question #32

Is there any biblical reference to oral sex? Is it a sin? Is practicing oral sex before marriage a sin? I'm not sure where this scripture is, it goes something like Marriage is honorable and the bed is undefiled. From a sexual stand point does this mean that anything a husband and a wife agree on from a sexual perspective that it is acceptable in the eyesight of God? What is the bible position on Masturbation? Is it acceptable as long as it is done in a way that it does not affect anyone else.

Answer: From my studies any kind of sex outside of marriage is a violation of God's instructions. Within marriage each partner must be respectful of the other. The bible says any sex outside of marriage is considered sexual immorality. See these verses:Exodus 20:14
You shall not commit adultery

As for oral sex Ephesians 5:3 says:
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.

Colossians 3:5
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

1 Thessalonians 4:2-4
For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus. It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable.

Hebrews 13:4
Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.

As you pray and study your bible God will reveal Himself to you.

Question #33

What is the purpose of the Church's existence in our present society? What should I see in action in a successful Church. How important is evangelism in the Church of Jesus Christ? I am told that our responsibility is only to share the Gospel with people and that their response is not a concern of ours. Is this scripturally true?

Answer:The purpose of the church in present society is to be its conscience. It is also to evangelize to the world the Good News of Jesus Christ .
See Luke 24:44-53
He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms." Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high." When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God. "

Matt 28:16-20
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Mark 16:9-20
When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it. Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either. Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen. He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

The mission of the first century church is the same today. Also read the entire book of Acts to get a better idea of how that was done.

Lastly, in the book of Luke Jesus tells His disciples what to do if the Gospel is not accepted.

Luke 9:1-6
When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. He told them: "Take nothing for the journey--no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra tunic. Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town. If people do not welcome you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave their town, as a testimony against them." So they set out and went from village to village, preaching the gospel and healing people everywhere.

Question # 34

What does the parable of the lost son mean?

Answer:

The Parable of the Lost Son in Luke 15 which reads: Jesus continued: "There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, 'Father, give me my share of the estate.' So he divided his property between them. "Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything. "When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired men.' So he got up and went to his father. "But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. "The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son. ' "But the father said to his servants, 'Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' So they began to celebrate. "Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. 'Your brother has come,' he replied, 'and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.' "The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. But he answered his father, 'Look! All these years I've been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!' " 'My son,' the father said, 'you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' "

Jesus uses parables to illustrate a religious lesson. The parable of the lost son is a story that teaches the listener about a believer who strayed from God and then returned. The son wasn't a specific individual, but he represents those who have left the fold.

Question # 35

My question is those people who accept Jesus into their hearts as children or adults, but for whatever reason, do not seem able to break free of certain bondage, drugs, mental problems etc. and they commit suicide, because they were deceived by a demonic spirit, would they go to heaven or would their soul go to hell? I have a girlfriend who had a son who committed suicide three days ago, his mother is a Christian. Her son accepted Jesus as a boy and then in his later years, he got into drugs really bad, and at different times tried to get his life straightened out but fell back into them and the last time he started doing meth. So she was asking me did her son go to heaven or did his soul wind up in hell?

Answer: God is the judge and He and He alone saves.  We cannot make this call -  We can find comfort and solace in God. Jesus knows and he will do the right thing in every situation. Faith means God is right. We must study and pray to understand more about Jesus. See Romans 2:6-16 "God "will give to each person according to what he has done." To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For God does not show favoritism. All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things
required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them). This will take place on the day when God will judge men's secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares."

Question: Can you show me where in the bible it says Jesus Christ is a Divine Being who was not created?

Answer: The bible addresses Jesus ‘ Divinity in numerous places.

Beginning in Genesis 1.

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God (Elohim) created (‘bara) the heavens and the earth.
Note - Elohim is the plural form of El (God). The Hebrew Plural is more then two, a dual would be two. The verb ‘bara is singular. Genesis 1:1 literally reads: “In the beginning Gods He created the heavens and the earth. The only way to translate this concept into English is use the tense of the verb.

In the New Testament John in the prologue of his Gospel builds on this idea as follows:

John 1:1-3
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. This one was in the beginning with God. All things were made by means of Him, and without Him nothing was made that has been made.
John’s use of the Greek imperfect tense (en) meaning always was he tell us that the logos always was 3 things: 1) in the beginning; 2) with God; therefore 3) always was God. This is what Genesis has told us by using the plural Elohim. Verse three affirms this and offers the idea that everything that was created – God Elohim is the only being that exists – If Jesus was a created being or not God, He created Himself, a truly absurd assumption.

John 1:14
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only unique one from the Father, full of grace and truth.
This verse identifies that the logos is Jesus – God became human (flesh).

John 1:15
John testified about Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, "He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.'"
Here John the Baptist testifies that Jesus pre-existed him.

John 1:18
No one has seen God at any time; the only unique God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has made Him known.
Only God can reveal God. The Greek monogenes Theos, “only unique God” is the correct Greek not monogenes huios, “only unique son” Bodmere Papyrus p66 is the strongest attestation of this reading.

John 8:57,58
so the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?" Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I Myself Am."
I Myself Am or I AM– the Greek ego eimi is emphatic and means that He is the eternal self existing One. This is a reference to the burning bush revelation to Moses in Exodus 3:13-15:
13 Then Moses said to God (Elohim), "Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, "The God (Elohim) of your fathers has sent me to you.' Now they may say to me, "What is His name?' What shall I say to them?" 14 God (Elohim) said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"(Hebrew ehayeh asher ehayeh – Greek ego eimi); and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, "I AM (ehayeh) has sent me to you.'" 15 God (Elohim), furthermore, said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, "Yahweh, the God (Elohim) of your fathers, the God (Elohim) of Abraham, the God (Elohim) of Isaac, and the God (Elohim) of Jacob, has sent me to you.' This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations.

John 8:59
Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple.

The Jews reacted to His claim and wanted to stone Him for blasphemy – He was claiming to be Yahweh.

John 20:27-28
Then He said to Thomas, "Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing." Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"

Thomas identifies Jesus as both LORD and GOD. Only God is addressed in this form of worship and Jesus accepts this worship from Thomas. According to the law in Exodus 34:12-14: 12 "Watch yourself that you make no covenant with the inhabitants of the land into which you are going, or it will become a snare in your midst. 13 "But rather, you are to tear down their altars and smash their sacred pillars and cut down their Asherim 14 -- for you shall not worship any other god, for Yahweh, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God --
The apostle Paul also argues that Jesus is Divine.

Romans 9:3-5
For I could wish that I myself were accursed, separated from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh, who are Israelites, to whom belongs the adoption as sons, and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the Law and the temple service and the promises, whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.

Titus 2:11-13
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,

Hebrews 1:1-12 (Look at all these representations) God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. (Creator) And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature (Same nature), and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they. For to which of the angels did He ever say,
"YOU ARE MY SON, TODAY I HAVE BECOME YOUR FATHER"?
And again, (Fatherhood and Son ship by choice)"I WILL BE A FATHER TO HIM AND HE SHALL BE A SON TO ME"?

(Again Fatherhood and Son ship by choice)

And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says,

"AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM." (Worship)

And of the angels He says,

"WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE."

But of the Son He says,

"YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, (Here God calls His Son God)

AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM.

"YOU HAVE LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HATED LAWLESSNESS;

THEREFORE GOD, YOUR GOD, HAS ANOINTED YOU

WITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS ABOVE YOUR COMPANIONS."

And, "YOU, LORD, IN THE BEGINNING LAID THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH, (Creator)

AND THE HEAVENS ARE THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS;

THEY WILL PERISH, BUT YOU REMAIN; AND THEY ALL WILL BECOME OLD LIKE A GARMENT, AND LIKE A MANTLE YOU WILL ROLL THEM UP;LIKE A GARMENT THEY WILL ALSO BE CHANGED.

BUT YOU ARE THE SAME, AND YOUR YEARS WILL NOT COME TO AN END." (Eternal)

If Jesus isn’t God then He is a liar and the entire New Testament, and Old Testament for that matter is worthless.
Notice the formula for Baptism in

Matthew 28:19-20"
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Note the word “name” is singular The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is God and have one name – Yahweh.
Notice the records of the Baptism of Jesus in the Gospels– all three members of the Godhead (Elohim) are present:

Matt 3:13-17
Then Jesus arrived from Galilee at the Jordan coming to John, to be baptized by him. But John tried to prevent Him, saying, "I have need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?" But Jesus answering said to him, "Permit it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he permitted Him. After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him, and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased."

Mark 1:9-12
In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. Immediately coming up out of the water, He (Jesus) saw the heavens opening, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him. and a voice came out of the heavens: "You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased." Immediately the Spirit impelled Him to go out into the wilderness.

Luke 3:21,22
Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus was also baptized, and while He was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven, "You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased."

John 1:29-34
The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! "This is He on behalf of whom I said, "After me comes a Man who has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.' "I did not recognize Him, but so that He might be manifested to Israel, I came baptizing in water." John testified saying, "I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him. "I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, "He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.' "I myself have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of God."

This is just similar to creation as described in Genesis 1:1-2
1 In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.
